Everything You Need to Know for
July 17 Hilltop Olympics & Picnic
We are just days away from our fourth annual Hilltop Olympics & Summer Picnic, set for Thursday, July 17, 2025. So, we’d like to share with you — our employees, Residents, and their families — everything you need to know to get ready for the big day.
Where Do I Park?: The event will take up our entire upper parking lot. Therefore, there will be no parking for employees or visitors in the upper lot on Thursday morning. Please park behind the building. Those bringing family members with mobility issues can drop them off up top before parking around back. We anticipate that, with time for cleanup, normal parking will resume by 3 p.m.
What’s the Schedule for the Day?: The event officially starts at 11:30 a.m. We welcome loved ones to arrive a bit earlier to help us bring our Residents outside starting around 11:15 a.m. Lunch service will begin at 11:30, followed by the start of our other festivities. Click here for a full schedule.
What About the Weather?: Right now, the weather looks clear and warm during our picnic hours. But it is Pittsburgh, so you never know. We are planning for a sunny summer day by gathering pop-up tents to provide as much shade as possible for our Residents while they eat and watch the Olympics. We recommend that Residents have sunscreen and a hat.
What Should I Wear?: Please dress for a warm summer day outdoors and consider wearing sunscreen and a hat. Employees are permitted to wear a Mt. Assisi Place T-shirt (if they have one) or other tasteful T-shirt, work-appropriate shorts, and clean sneakers. Be sure to add any colorful summer accessories.
How Do I Pay for My Guest Tickets?: The festivities are free for Residents and employees. Guest lunches are $10 each. If you haven’t yet paid, you can do so at the raffle table on Thursday. While you’re there, be sure to enter our family and staff raffles. We also will have a giveaway for our employees and a small gift for family members.
What Are the Rules of the Olympic Events?: The basic guidelines of each event will be explained as we go along. But you can familiarize yourself with the event rules ahead of time and see who is scheduled to participate.
