Updated Visiting Guidelines

Effective March 16, 2023

The Pennsylvania Department of Health & Human Services has updated its guidance to eliminate several outdated pandemic-era policies. Accordingly, we have adapted our visiting guidelines for families and friends, effective immediately.

  • Visiting hours remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days per week. Upon arrival, visitors must sign in at the Reception Desk and also sign out when they leave. It is no longer necessary to have your temperature taken or to complete the health screening.

  • Within reason, there is no limit to the number of family members or friends permitted to visit at a time, provided there is enough space to spend time together in the Resident’s room or in a lounge without disrupting other Residents.

  • Visits may take place in a Resident’s room, outside on our grounds, or in our lounges. This includes the Marian Hall third-floor lounge, the Antonia Hall Lounge (Room 328), and the Lower Level Lounge just outside the dining room. Our lounges are equipped with comfortable furnishings, as well as at least one table and chairs.

  • Visitors are welcome in our activity rooms, provided enough seating is available for other Residents and there is not an organized activity underway.

  • Visitors are welcome in the Main Chapel for Mass six days per week or for private prayer. Mass is held at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday, and at 9 a.m. on Sundays. There is no Mass on Saturdays.

  • Visitors may escort Residents to the dining room for meal times, but are not to enter or sit in the dining room. If you wish to share a meal with your loved one, please arrange to have food in the Resident’s room or one of our lounges.

  • Face coverings are no longer mandatory for visitors. However, there may be times or special occasions when we require masks. We will let you know when inviting you to events.

  • If the weather permits, feel free to take a Resident outside the front entrance. Our Marian Hall patio remains closed to visitors.

  • Families may take Residents out without need to quarantine. However, extended visits to a family home should be discussed ahead of time with Diane Ott.

  • Pets are not permitted inside the building.

  • Please use good judgment when planning a visit. If you do not feel well, please DO NOT come.

We ask for your ongoing caution and cooperation. Resident safety remains our top priority, so please let's continue to work together. If you have any questions, please call us at 412-761-1999.

Returning After Hours?
Follow These Steps:

If you have taken a Resident out of the building for an appointment and need to return after 5 p.m., please follow these steps for gaining access into the building once the receptionist is off duty:

  • Please call our main line at 412-761-1999.

  • Regardless of which hall your Resident is from, please press 3 for the Marian Hall Nurses Station. This is located closer to the main door, and a staff member can more quickly get there to let you in.

  • Do not connect to or leave a voicemail with any other extension, as they will not be answered in a timely fashion after 5 p.m.

These steps are only for returning to the building after hours. If you are calling to speak to a nurse about another matter, please press 3 for Marian Hall or press 4 for Antonia Hall.
