Spooky Skits with Carol Burnett & Friends
You’ll be screaming with laughter when we view classic TV sketches, each with a Halloween theme. This fun afternoon will feature scenes from The Carol Burnett Show and other iconic TV programs. Join us in the Marian Hall 3rd-Floor Lounge at 1:45 p.m.
October Birthday Bash
We’ll keep the good times rolling with our October Birthday Bash over lunch (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on Thursday, October 22, in the dining room. This month will feature live piano music and special seasonal treats.
Flu Shot Clinic
Mt. Assisi Place will host its annual flu shot clinic for Residents and employees on Friday, October 23. Representatives from Giant Eagle Pharmacy will be here starting at 1 p.m. to administer flu shots to Residents and employees who wish to receive them.
DETAILS FOR RESIDENTS: Flu shots will be administered to Residents in their rooms. If a Resident wishes to receive a flu shot, families are asked to submit to the Reception Desk by Wednesday, October 14, a completed authorization form and updated copy of the Resident’s insurance information.
DETAILS FOR EMPLOYEES: Any staff member who wishes to receive a flu shot must submit to the Reception Desk by Wednesday, October 14, a completed registration form and bring a copy of their insurance information with them on October 23. Flu shots for employees will be administered in the large conference room across from Diane Ott's office.
Flu shots cannot be given without a completed authorization form and current insurance information. Print your authorization form by clicking the button below, or stop by the Reception Desk to get one. Information about the flu shot also is available below.

October Crafts Workshop
Jean Armany, daughter-in-law, of former Resident Alice Armany, will guide our Residents in making a special seasonal crafts project. We will gather at the right side of the Main Dining Room beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 4. All supplies will be provided.
Feast of St. Francis Mass
The School Sisters of St. Francis will host a special Mass at 9 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, which is the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. All are welcome to join us in the Main Chapel.
The Transitus of St. Francis Prayer Service
Each year on October 3, Franciscans and their friends come together to celebrate his transitus — to remember the final journey of our father, Francis of Assisi, from life, through death, to new life in God. This year is of particular significance as we observe the Eighth Centenary of the Transitus of St. Francis.
We learn much about a person in the last moments of his or her life. Eight hundred years ago, Francis was surrounded by the love of his brothers during the final journey. On this night, we will join our hearts and minds in prayer with all Franciscans, as we continue to recall the things Francis thought, said and did in his last days and hours on earth.
The School Sisters of St. Francis welcome Residents, family members and employees to join them for A Celebration of the Transitus, a special prayer service commemorating the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, in our Main Chapel. No RSVP is necessary.

Oktoberfest Celebration
Our September Birthday Party will evoke the sights, sounds and flavors of Oktoberfest, as we enjoy live accordion music and a special menu of German-inspired food — including roasted pork, baked chicken, braised red cabbage, potato pancakes, green beans in mustard sauce, apple strudel and German beer — prepared by John Marshall Catering. All the fun will take place in the dining room during lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Family members are welcome to attend with purchase of $10 meal ticket at Reception Desk.

We Remember: 9/11 Prayer Service
As our nation observes the 25th anniversary of 9/11, our friends and volunteer Sam Rice will lead a special program of meditative music and uplifting scripture at 1 p.m. this Friday, September 11, in our Main Chapel. Family members and employees are welcome to join our Residents for this solemn gathering commemorating the tragic events of September 11, 2001. No RSVP is necessary.

Steelers Spirit Rowdy Rally
As the Steelers get ready to kick off their 2026 football season, we’ll kick off our second annual Steelers Spirit Weekend with a lunchtime pep rally filled with music, trivia and treats. We will have a special tailgate-inspired menu featuring Isaly’s Chipped Ham BBQ sandwiches, kielbasa and kraut, pierogies with butter and onions, zucchini fries, and I.C. Light. You never know … a special guest might even stop by! Be sure to wear your black and gold gear and brush up on your Steelers Polka!
Family members and friends are welcome to attend. Guest meal tickets are $10 each and are available at the Mt. Assisi Place Reception Desk between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Cash and checks are accepted (we are not able to accept payment online). Please click the button below to RSVP by September 8.
