Deck the Halls Holiday Carolling
Sister Cindy
Sister Cindy Kibler and friends — including seminarians who are studying for the priesthood — will visit us on Monday, December 15, to lead holiday sing-alongs in both Marian Hall and Antonia Hall. The fun begins at 2:15 p.m. A member of the West View-based Sisters of the Holy Spirit, Sister Cindy serves as apostolic works coordinator with the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Caroling & Ice Cream with the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Singers
Singers from the same local congregation that hosted a wonderful outdoor Mass here this summer will join us for our regular Monday afternoon Mass at 4 p.m., then perform Christmas carols and serve ice cream during dinner. It promises to be an engaging evening of fellowship.
Christmas Luncheon for Employees & Volunteers
It’s time to mingle and jingle! Our employees and volunteers will enjoy a catered meal, raffles, and other festive fun as we gather to celebrate the season. Please be sure to RSVP to the Reception Desk by Wednesday, December 10.
Festive Folk Music with Phil
Phil Lamperski — a musician and music professor — will visit Mt. Assisi Place to play and chat about seasonal folk music with our Residents. We will gather at 6 p.m. in the Marian Hall 3rd-Floor Lounge. Please join us.
Wellness Clinic
Each month, our Residents can take part in an onsite Wellness Clinic, during which their blood pressure, weight, gait and posture are evaluated.
Marian Hall Residents participate in the Second-Floor Lounge starting at 8:30 a.m.

Resident Christmas Party
Our annual Resident Christmas Party — set for 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, in the dining room — is guaranteed to be filled with festive fun. We will celebrate the season with colorful decorations and accessories, games, food, and music. DJ Mike will be here to spin our favorite seasonal tunes, and we will have a special menu featuring beef tenderloin, stuffed salmon, twice-baked potatoes, a vegetable medley and a featured dessert. You never know — Santa and Mrs. Claus may even stop by!

Advent Penance Service

Volunteer Sam Rice welcomes our Residents and their families, as well as employees and volunteers, to share in an evening of meditation, contemplation and veneration with music and reflections on The Blessed Nativity by the Early Church Fathers. Holiday Spirit Spectacular Preschool Show
Our friends from Amazing Scholar Academy Preschool — formerly Mount Assisi Academy Preschool — will return to our auditorium to perform their Holiday Spirit Spectacular. Residents, their family members, and employees are invited to a dress rehearsal performance at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 11. This irresistible group of 4-year-olds will sing and dance their way through a 90-minute program full of Christmas songs and costumed skits.
Please plan to arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. to access the chairlift that can transport those with wheelchairs and walkers from the B-Level down to the auditorium floor before the show begins.

Holiday Performance by the ICTUS Choir
Our main chapel will be filled with the sounds of the holiday season when the ICTUS Choir — made up of volunteer vocalists from the nearby towns of Crafton, Ingram and Thornburg — stops by to perform at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. Residents, employees and family members are welcome to join us for this one-hour program of sacred and secular music.
Poetry Club
Residents interested in writing, reading and listening to poetry can join “The Poetry Man” John Conte in the dining room (right side) for a time of creative sharing. The group usually meets on the first Friday of each month.

Things get pretty competitive when we gather in the Marian Hall Second-Floor Lounge each Wednesday afternoon for Wii Bowling. Residents use a motion-activated controller to play virtual games of bowling on our Wii video game system. Not only do we have a blast, but it’s also good exercise!

Residents will have an opportunity to select new reading and listening material, courtesy of a visit from the Allegheny County Bookmobile, which will be onsite in the Marian Hall third-floor lounge at 11 a.m.
Fall Flavors Taste-Testing
Prepare your tastebuds for a treat! Our friends at Monarch Hospice will bring around a cart filled with samples of autumn foods for our Residents to try. The cart will visit Antonia Hall at 1:30 p.m., then make its way to Marian Hall at 2:30 p.m. Don’t miss this unique and delicious sensory activity!
November Birthday Bash
We’ll keep the good times rolling with our November Birthday Bash over lunch (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on Thursday, November 13, in the dining room. This month will feature doo wop music.
Patriotic Sing-Along

2025 Memorial Service
Mt. Assisi Place sets aside a special time each year to remember the Residents and Employees we’ve lost over the past year. Our 2025 Memorial Service is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, in our main chapel. The School Sisters of St. Francis will lead us in prayer, and a representative of each family will carry a candle in brief procession.
