Etched in Our Hearts

Honor loved ones with commemorative bricks and pavers
in St. Clare Garden at Mt. Assisi Place

St. Clare Garden was established in 2013 by the School Sisters of St. Francis to not only beautify the Mt. Assisi grounds, but also to commemorate the Sisters’ 100 Anniversary in the United States. The statue of St. Clare and surrounding area were dedicated on August 14, 2013, by Sister Květa Vinklárková (then general minister of the international congregation) and Sister Bernadine Marie Stemnock (then provincial minister of the U.S. Province).

The result is a peaceful space that welcomes visitors to Mt. Assisi Place with inviting benches for prayer and reflection. This special place was designed with residents, family members, alumnae and others in mind to memorialize special time spent at the Mount Assisi complex. Commemorative bricks and pavers in the garden space are available for purchase and to be engraved with the name(s) of your loved one(s).

Two Styles Available

Select an 8x8-inch paver ($250) or a 4x8-inch ($100) brick to be engraved in memory or in honor of your loved one. Create a lasting presence on the hilltop made home by the School Sisters of St. Francis in 1928. Whether your connection is to Mt. Assisi Place, the former Marian Hall Home or Mount Assisi Academy, our St. Clare Garden offers a unique means by which to etch memories in both your heart and in stone.
