Get your funny bone ready for our Funny Friday Feature, as we screen some of the most iconic sketches from the legendary Carol Burnett Show. These timeless scenes are sure to have us laughing just as hard as when they first aired in the 1970s. All of your favorite characters will be brought to life once again by Carol, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Vicki Lawrence. Join us for all the fun (and maybe some treats, too) at 2 p.m. in the Marian Hall 3rd-Floor Lounge.
Featured Sketches:
“Went with the Wind!” — This iconic parody of Gone with the Wind is perhaps the show's single most famous moment. Carol Burnett, as "Starlett," wears a dress made from green curtains, complete with the curtain rod still across her shoulders.
“The Dentist” — A classic sketch where Tim Conway, as an inexperienced dentist, gives Harvey Korman novocaine and then proceeds to hilariously injure himself, leading to Korman's famous, uncontrollable laughter and physical breaking of character.
“Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins” — A recurring sketch featuring Tim Conway as the short-tempered, Swedish-accented Mr. Tudball and Carol Burnett as his ditzy, inattentive secretary, Mrs. Wiggins. Their office interactions and miscommunications were a consistent source of humor.
“The Oldest Man” — Another popular recurring character played by Tim Conway, who moved at a painfully slow pace, often while performing a simple task like clock repair or acting as a fireman. These sketches were designed to make his co-stars (usually Korman) break character.
