A Simply Boo-tiful Day
Halloween Parade Connects Residents & School Students
October 16, 2024 — Our Residents had a special opportunity to interact with the students of The Saint Constantine School of Pittsburgh — which opened on our campus in August — when the youngsters took part in a Halloween parade through Marian Hall on October 16. The children donned costumes and made their way along all three floors of Marian Hall, where Residents were waiting outside their rooms and in the lounges with delicious treats. Those who live in Antonia Hall gathered in the Marian Hall third-floor lounge to visit with the kids.
The event provided a special opportunity for the students to learn about “the other side” of our campus, while evoking irrepressible smiles from our Residents. “This is just so much fun!” exclaimed Rita Hirschfield, as the children paraded through her hallway.
All the kids took home overflowing treat bags and some fun memories. Among the highlights was a giant dancing dinosaur brought to life by our own Morgan Cardone, med-tech in Marian Hall. Her inflatable T-Rex costume delighted Residents and children alike.
“Today brought a lot of joy to everyone involved, and we were thankful to have the opportunity,” says Rachel Hauenschild, Saint Constantine’s K-12 coordinator. “The kids have been trading their goodies, and already talking about doing it again next year!”
