Leading up to Mother’s Day 2025, we asked our Residents to reflect on their fondest memories of raising their children.

  • Anna Mae Kenst

    Marian Hall

Children: 6 boys (Don, Bob, Jim, Larry, Bill and David)

    Grandchildren: 9

Favorite Memories: Going to the playground, reading books, going to church. They always played baseball and basketball. It was wonderful!

  • Maryann McClain

    Antonia Hall

Children: 5 boys (Paul, Stephen, Scott, Tim and Kevin)

    Grandchildren: 6 (3 girls and 3 boys)

Fondest Memories: I loved going to their sporting events (baseball, hockey and football). I loved cooking for them. Two of them loved to cook with me, as well.

  • Frances Opiela

    Marian Hall

    FRANCES OPIELA

    Children: 4 boys

    Grandchildren: 10

Fondest Memories: Going to their sports games, going to church together, celebrating birthdays. I loved everything about my family, my husband and my boys. Where they were I had to be because I loved them.

  • Betty Donovan

    Antonia Hall

    Children: 11

    Grandchildren: Too many to count!

Fondest Memories: Going to their sports and cooking their favorite meals. We read lots of stories when they were little. We also loved taking walks together.

  • Joan Oyler

    Marian Hall

    Children: 1 son (James)

Grandchildren: 2 granddaughters (Libby and Kennedy)

Fondest Memories: I liked to do everything with my son, especially going to Kennywood and other parks. I always had fun with my son and dogs.

  • Betty Oberst

    Marian Hall

Children: 6 (Lisa, Chris, Steve, David, Bill and Diane)

    Grandchildren: 11

Fondest Memories: Singing songs, telling stories, celebrating holidays and birthdays. We enjoyed sitting together every night at the dinner table (there were many stories told) and then watching comedies on TV. Having a big family with friends as extended family, there was never a dull moment!

  • Loraine Poslusny

    Antonia Hall

Children: 3 (Mary, Patty and Steven)

    Grandchildren: 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandkids

Fondest Memories: Going to church with the children, taking walks with the baby in the stroller and the older two tagging along. My favorite thing about being a mom is the love of my children. They call me regularly and we love to chat!

  • Ruth Snodey

    Marian Hall

    Children: 2 (Antoinette and Derrick)

Fondest Memories: They picked apples, and then I made baked apples. I remember catching Antoinette climbing up to get cookies on top of the refrigerator.

  • Mary Ann Tomasic

    Marian Hall

    Children: 5 boys

    Grandchildren: 8

Fondest Memories: Cooking their favorite meals, going to baseball games, swimming with the kids in one of our many above-ground pools.

  • Dana Funk

    Antonia Hall

    Remembering Her Mom: Peggy

Fondest Memories: We loved to sing together, especially in church. We gardened together, went to the library together, and traveled together (including to Europe). She had a wonderful personality and was fun to be with!
