A Spirit of Giving

Special thanks are in order for those have shared their generosity with our personal care community this holiday season:

  • Jeff and Gina Funk, family of resident Dana Funk, donated $400 in gift cards to be raffled off to staff as part of the Gifts of Gratitude employee appreciation event.

  • Dave Hunkele (Maintenance) generously purchased two beautiful prelit Christmas trees for the main dining room, replacing two older ones that were showing their age.

  • Parishioners at Assumption BVM Church in Bellevue again delivered on the wishes of our residents by dropping off gift bags and wrapped presents filled with items from residents’ wishlists.

  • Amazing Scholar Academy Preschool in Ross once again dropped a bountiful batch of Bubby’s Bags down our chimney. The care packages are donated annually in memory of Cheryl Buchlmayer, whose ties to our hilltop date back to the 1970s.

  • Resident aide Erin Ras crafted cute Santa hat hairclips that were shared with all the residents at their Christmas party on December 17.

  • Carolee Mandernach (Housekeeping) led a staff effort to purchase fun holiday headbands, light-up necklaces and other festive accessories for the residents to wear during the same party.

  • Each resident received a lap blanket, lap quilt or walker bag handmade by receptionist Connie Holko and her quilting friends.

  • Mt. Assisi Place also gifted each resident with a cardinal ornament that can be displayed all winter.
