Meet Team Mt. Assisi

Let us introduce you to the members of Team Mt. Assisi 2023, a group of brave and slightly crazy competitors who will wow the crowd
with their athletic prowess in our three marquee events — the Wheelchair Race, Water Balloon Toss and Water Bucket Relay.

  • HUNKA-HUNKA HUNKELE

    DAVE HUNKELE

    Department: Maintenance

Scouting Report: He plants fear in the hearts of the competition as well as he plants flowers on our grounds.

  • FAST CAR CHAR

    CHARLYN GOODE

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: Don’t let her smiling face fool you — this chrome-plated competitor has a high-octane engine and corners like a sports car.

  • SHE-REX

    CAROLYN HUNTER

    Department: Food Service

Scouting Report: In the diningroom, she dishes out daily meals. On the playing field, she serves up fierce competition.

  • AUNDRAE THE GIANT

    AUNDRAE O’ROURKE

    Department: Housekeeping

Scouting Report: In his first Hilltop Olympics, this hard-working teammate will be looking to make a “clean sweep” of the leaderboard.

  • CURLY

    CAROLYN KLINGENSMITH

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: Known for crazy outfits and piloting Resident wheelchairs with speed and agility. Piloting herself — not so much.

  • SIZZLIN' CINDY

    CINDY MCCULLOUGH

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: She might seem like a sweetheart, but when it comes to next-level competition, she has a real hot streak, as demonstrated in the 2022 Water Balloon Toss.

  • DAZZLING DONNA

    DONNA POREMSKI

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: This experienced cheerleading mom looks forward to bringing her outgoing personality out of the bleachers and onto the playing field.

  • COACH DO-RAG

    TOM STEENBEKE

    Department: Maintenance

Scouting Report: He’s known for fixing things around here, and may have fixed a few events too. Sure to fail a steroid test the morning of the competition.

  • JO-JO O

    JOANNE OSBORN

    Department: Business Office

Scouting Report: She’s a classy lassy who owns way too many pairs of sunglasses. Fancies herself as a modern-day Jackie O.

  • TORNADO TAMMY

    TAMMY TOWERS

    Department: Housekeeping

Scouting Report: With stamina and swagger vacuum-packed into one complete package, she leaves the competition in the “dust.”

  • NITRO

    SHARON NUTTALL

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: Steady in the workplace can mean unpredictable on the playing field. She’s short but sassy and lives up to her nickname.

  • MS. BOSSY PANTS

    MICHELLE BROOKS

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: As the youngest of our competitors, she intends to set the pace and see if everyone else can keep up.

  • KOOKY KAREN

    KAREN VEVERS

    Department: Activities

Scouting Report: One of our most “active” athletes. Training regimen includes seated exercise, Wii Bowling and plenty of Bingo.

  • SASSY SABRINA

    SABRINA HAUN

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: The sassy lassy will slide right into the action, competing in her first Hilltop Olympics.

  • NICKY NOODLES

    NICOLE BUCHLMAYER

    Department: Communications

Scouting Report: The knees aren’t what they used to be, but this hatted chatter is ready to dive right into our water games.

  • ENERGIZER JENNY

    JENNIFER REILLY

    Department: Resident Care

Scouting Report: She may not be pink and have big, floppy ears, but this energetic athlete harnesses all the power of the Energizer Bunny.

  • SISTER SPLASH

    SISTER ELAINE HROMULAK

    Department: Family Member

Scouting Report: While getting her feet wet in this year’s games, she looks to be a ‘principal’ player.

  • ELECTRIC ELENA

    ELAINE CHEGAS

    Department: Activities

Scouting Report: She brightens up Saturdays around here, so keep an eye on how well she handles weekday action.

  • AWESOME O'S

    DIANE & STEVE OBERST

    Department: Family Members

Scouting Report: This dynamic duo is always up for a challenge as long as there is fun (and bragging rights) to be had, too.

  • OFF THE BENCH

A few other family members and guests also will be taking part in our Olympic Games.
