Showing Off Our Spirit

It's Steelers Spirit Weekend here at Mt. Assisi Place! We kicked off the celebration today with a lunchtime pep rally filled with tunes and treats. Residents took a trip down memory lane to sing the Steelers Polka from 1978, and showed off their Steelers savvy by scoring big at touchdown trivia. In anticipation of the Steelers’ 2025 season, we shared memories of 1972’s Immaculate Reception, and recalled the likes of Bradshaw, Harris and Bleier. Everyone wore colorful beads, received Steelers schedules, and took home Terrible Towel posters to hang on their doors.

We are ever-so-grateful to the Pittsburgh Steelers for sending their mascot, Steely McBeam, to join in the fun, and to our food service team for the black-and-gold cupcakes. Residents, employees and visitors were encouraged to show their spirit by wearing black-and-gold gear all weekend long. We’ll all be tuned in as the Steelers start their regular season on Sunday by taking on the New York Jets. Go Steelers!
